WordPress runs a large share of the web and is a sensible choice in many cases. We build most of our sites with Next.js, and this article explains the difference honestly so you can choose with understanding.
When is WordPress a good fit?
- A blog or content site your team writes in every day.
- A very tight budget where a ready theme is enough.
- You need a well-known plugin that already does the job as-is.
When is Next.js better?
- Speed matters: pages are prepared ahead and reach visitors in a fraction of a second.
- You want a design built for your brand, not one of thousands of themes.
- The site will later grow into an admin panel, client portal or app.
- Security: no third-party plugins that need constant updates and get exploited.
What about editing content?
This is the question clients worry about most. In our Next.js projects we provide a simple panel to edit text, prices and images, so you don't need a developer for every small change.
